Furnish and Co. FAQ
FAQ

Questions we hear most often.

We have gathered answers to the most common questions about our services, process, pricing, and how to work with us.

Getting Started

How do I get started with Furnish & Co.?

The first step is a consultation — a focused conversation where we understand your property, your goals, your timeline, and your budget. We then develop a clear proposal outlining the scope of work, our approach, and investment required. Consultations can be booked directly through our website or by calling or WhatsApping us.

What does a consultation involve?

A consultation is a structured conversation — either in person at the property or via video call — where we discuss your project in detail. We will ask about your objectives, property type, target market or use, timeline, budget range, and any existing items you want to retain. From this, we develop a clear brief and can provide an accurate proposal.

Do you offer a quote before I commit to anything?

Yes. After an initial consultation, we provide a detailed proposal and cost estimate at no obligation. You only proceed if you are satisfied with the scope and investment.

Services

What services do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of furnishing and outfitting services: full property furnishing, investor outfitting, Airbnb and short-term rental setup, design-led furnishing, hospitality-inspired interiors, furniture and décor sourcing, professional installation and styling, and interior refresh and upgrade. Most projects combine several of these services.

Can you furnish a property I am not able to visit myself?

Yes. We regularly work with investors and property owners who are not based in Cape Town. We manage the full process remotely — from briefing through to installation and handover — providing photographic and written updates throughout. A video walkthrough is provided at handover.

Do you work on single rooms or only full properties?

We work on both. We can furnish and style a complete property from scratch, or address a single room, space, or styling requirement. Our interior refresh service is designed precisely for clients who want targeted improvement rather than a full refurnishment.

Process

What is your process from consultation to handover?

Our process moves through six stages: (1) Consultation and brief development, (2) Concept and direction presentation, (3) Sourcing and procurement, (4) Logistics and delivery management, (5) Professional installation, and (6) Styling, finishing, and handover. Each stage is managed and communicated clearly so you always know where your project stands.

How long does a full property furnishing project take?

Timelines vary by project scope and complexity. A standard apartment furnishing typically takes 3 to 5 weeks from confirmed brief to handover. Larger or more complex projects may take 6 to 10 weeks. We always provide a clear timeline with your proposal and maintain it.

Can you work to urgent timelines?

In many cases, yes. If you have a specific date requirement — a guest arrival, a listing launch, or a sales deadline — share it with us at consultation and we will confirm whether we can accommodate it. We do not commit to timelines we cannot deliver.

Budget & Pricing

What does your service cost?

Pricing is project-specific and depends on scope, property size, service type, and furnishing investment level. We provide detailed, itemised proposals so you know exactly what you are paying for. There are no hidden fees. Our service fee is quoted transparently as part of the total project cost.

Do you have a minimum project size or budget?

We work across a range of project sizes and budgets. We are not the right partner for the lowest-possible-cost brief — our value lies in the quality of our selection, our process, and our execution. If you are committed to a quality outcome and have a realistic budget for it, we are likely a good fit.

Can I provide some of my own furniture or keep existing pieces?

Yes, absolutely. We are experienced at working around existing pieces — assessing what works within our direction and what does not, and building the new furnishing around what stays. This often helps manage budget without compromising the end result.

Location & Scope

Where do you operate?

Our primary focus is Cape Town and the surrounding areas. We work across the Cape Peninsula and Winelands. For projects outside this area, contact us to discuss — we do consider select projects further afield.

Do you work with developers or on multiple units simultaneously?

Yes. We work with developers and investors on multi-unit projects. We can furnish a single unit or coordinate the furnishing of an entire development, and we can work across multiple units simultaneously to meet development timelines.

Design

Do I need to know what I want before I contact you?

Not at all. Many clients come to us with a clear vision; others arrive with a brief, a budget, and an open mind. Our role is to translate both into a coherent, beautiful, well-executed interior. You do not need to arrive with a Pinterest board or a style direction — we will develop that together.

How involved will I be in the process?

As involved as you would like to be. We present a clear concept direction and involve you at key decision points — furniture selection, major purchases, significant aesthetic choices. Many clients prefer to delegate the detail and trust us; others want to stay closely involved. We adapt to both.
